Detailed Trip Information

Fishing Summary
Isla Blanca is an amazingly diverse fishery with gin-clear sand / turtle grass flats, backcountry lagoons, and mangrove-lined islands, channels, and bays.  This amazing habitat is home to Tarpon, Bonefish, Snook, Barracuda, and incredible numbers of Permit.  With all of these species available, it makes this fishery the ultimate destination to pursue the highly acclaimed "Grand Slam" or even "Super Slam"!
Isla Blanca is vast, providing the angler numerous miles of flats, lagoons, and channels to fish.  This is one of the Yucatan's most under-rated fisheries and we are proud to service you with the best guides and boats in the region.  The prime months to fish Isla Blanca are April through November.

Fishing Tackle and Techniques
At Isla Blanca, spacious 18 foot pangas are utilized with an extensive front casting deck.  All fishing is conducted out of these stealthy, stable, and comfortable fishing platforms.  With hundreds of square miles to fish, these powerful, fast pangas are able to extend to the far reaches of this amazing fishery.  Each panga is equipped with rod holders and two padded bench seats for your comfort.
Most anglers prefer to fish 8 or 9 weight rods at Isla Blanca.  On calm days, a 8 weight provides great sport for these flats species.  When weather conditions and/or size of fish dictate, 9 weight rods are the order of the day.  The wonderful part of fly fishing at Isla Blanca is that all of the fishing is conducted with floating lines.  The fish cruise or "fin" on flats as shallow as one foot deep!  This shallow water pursuit demands lightweight flies and accurate presentations.  The excitement of making the cast, watching a Permit waking behind your fly, and seeing the "grab" is a visual experience that will etch angling memories of a lifetime!  FISH ON!!
The Accommodations
You will be staying at the convenient, all-inclusive, resort Blue Bay Club.  This full service resort hotel offers a host of all-inclusive services and amenities - restaurants, bars, swimming pools, private beach, and recreational activities.  The Blue Bay Club is located away from the "Hotel Zone" of Cancun and, therefore, offers convenient access to the boat docks at Isla Blanca (20 minute drive).
Each spacious guest room has an ocean view, two full sized beds, air-conditioning, cable TV, and a full private bath with shower.  There is daily housekeeping service that cleans the rooms and replaces linens, towels, bottled drinking water, cups, and bar soap/shampoo each day.
Meals & Beverages
Meals and beverages are included in your fishing package.  Your all-inclusive package at the Blue Bay Club includes meal and beverage services at any of the hotel restaurants, buffets, and bars.  There are bars at the hotel that offer a variety of beverages - bottled water, sodas, juices, local beers, and liquor.
All drinking water and ice is bottled/made from purified water.
How To Get to Isla Blanca
From your location, you will need to fly to Cancun International Airport, Mexico.  Most major USA, European, and Canadian cities have direct flights to Cancun.  Check with your preferred airline for flight schedules.  NOTE: You are responsible for choosing and purchasing your own flight reservations.
After clearing Customs and Immigration, an Isla Blanca representative will greet you at the ground transportation area of the airport (just outside of Customs and Immigration.)   The hotel is a short 20 minute drive from the airport.
Required Travel Documents
    •    As of January 1, 2007, a current U.S. passport will be required for all United States citizens entering Mexico.  It is highly recommended that U.S. citizens present a passport that is valid for at least six months after the last day of the trip.  If your passport expires before then, please renew it prior to departing on your trip.
