Detailed Information
Fishing Summary
Anglers Inn sits on the shore of the most famous Largemouth Bass fishery in the world - Lake El Salto. Simply stated, Lake El Salto has surrendered more 10+ pound bass in the last few years than any bass lake in the world. Although it was once known simply as a "numbers" lake, El Salto bass have grown bigger and bigger each year. You can expect the average fish to weigh well over 3 pounds. El Salto is one of the few Mexican lakes that harbor pure Florida strain bass. With the abundance of forage fish, Tilapia and Shad, these bass continue to grow at an astonishing rate.

Fishing Tackle and Techniques
Anglers Inn utilizes spacious 18 foot Tracker Grizzly boats with extensive front and rear casting decks. All fishing is conducted out of these stealthy, stable, and comfortable fishing platforms. With over 45 miles of fishable shoreline these powerful, fast boats are able to extend to the far reaches of this amazing fishery. Each boat is equipped with rod holders and padded captain’s chairs for your comfort.
Most anglers prefer to fish 7 to 9 weight rods at Lake El Salto. On calm mornings, a 7 or 8 weight provides great sport for these trophy bass. If the wind blows and/or larger flies are utilized, 9 weight rods are the order of the day. The wonderful part of fly fishing at Anglers Inn is that much of the fishing is done with floating fly lines and top-water flies. When afternoon winds blow, fishing sub-surface flies with an intermediate or sink tip line will entice the bass.
Again, the remarkable and exciting aspect of this incredible fishery is the top-water fly fishing for these trophy Largemouth Bass. The excitement of “making the cast” and a top-water “blow-up” finale is a heart-pounding event that will etch angling memories of a lifetime! FISH ON!!
