Without a doubt, the freshwater Dorado (aka “Golden Dorado”) is one of the toughest fighting freshwater game fish you will ever battle on the fly rod.  Incredible power, reel-screaming runs, acrobatic jumps, and a mean set of teeth make for a species that commands respect and adrenaline.  Welcome to the incredible fishery below Salto Grande Dam in Uruguay,... home to the world’s largest Dorado.  River Plate has established exclusive access from the Uruguay side of the river and offers anglers a complete experience with world-class fishing and fine accommodations at the Horacio Quiroga Thermal Spa and Resort.  Join us for this amazing quest for the ultimate freshwater game fish... the Dorado!

Package Length: 5 nights lodging / 4 days guided fishing
Optional Add-On Fishing Days: Additional days of fishing may be added to a package (Salto Chico or Rio Parana) - inquire with us about rates.
Rate Includes:
  1. All necessary ground transfers including in Buenos Aires (and to/from Salto if included in the itinerary)
  2. Guided-operated 20-foot fiberglass shallow drafting center console bay boat with extra large casting platforms
  3. 7 hours fishing per day at the Exclusive Zone (Salto Grande Tail Water)
  4. Fishing licenses
  5. All meals, including wine, beer and hard liquor
  6. First class Loomis rods with Shimano reels for spinning and bait casting
  7. Round trip domestic commercial LAER flight Concordia/Salto (if included in the itinerary)
Rate does NOT include:
  1. International airfare to Buenos Aires
  2. Food and beverages in Buenos Aires and private city tours
  3. Single room supplement $60/night
  4. Special transfers and hotel reservations when not arriving or departing with the party
  5. Extra hotel nights
  6. Suggested voluntary tips to hotel staff (~ $150) and fishing guides (~ $150)
  7. Lures $7-$20 each
  8. Private charter one way $700/angler, minimum of 4 and maximum 6 anglers
